Why has employment opportunities been so scarce in the south jersey area?

Actually this applies to all kinds of opportunities (anywhere anyone can evolve in a positive way) This area has proven to be an area of more and more digression than any place else. If anyone has any ideas or even opinions why, it would be helpful. Thanks

  1. It's called a recession... If a large business that supports that areas economy fails... then it can start a chain reaction that avalanches that areas economy.
  2. We're in a recession.
  3. do you live in a box? or under a rock?
  4. We are in an inflationary depression. It is so bad in Oakland Cal. the people don't have money for gas. They have opened food kitchens throughout the Country.
  5. uh, the economy, maybe??? don't you read or watch the news? Climb out from under your rock
  6. I don't think it's limited to south jersey. With the economy in the shape it's in a lot of companies are tightening up and unwilling to bring on any new people until the situation changes for the better.
  7. Stop voting democratic! Of course, this does not apply if you work for the government. Then you can start taking money from citizens at a growing rate (aka taxes) and avoid paying your own. (aka Geitner, Dashcle, Wrangle and other Obama nominees!)
  8. One factor. We have been exporting manufacturing jobs overseas for 30 years where labour costs are cheaper.
