Postal Letter

Is the bankrupt US Postal service a preview to Obama Universal Health Care?

If the post office goes under many will be working in the health care bureaucracy if it is nationalized. Be afraid very afraid of this socialist community organizer. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090325/ap_on_go_ot/postal_woes

Public Comments

  1. yes
  2. Obama does not want universal healthcare. So NO!
  3. No, a little research shows the problem started well before Obama's election or even run.
  4. Obama isn't offering UHC, and the Postal Service is experiencing what happens during a recession....they have been laying off workers and increasing prices for more than a year.
  5. Aren't they as profitable as Amtrak?
  6. The post office is so inefficient its a wonder that they got this far without going bankrupt. Postage rates are increasing 5%. I sell software and I use this price increase to show businesses that delivering documents via the post office is inefficient. Especially with the internet allowing business documents to be e-mailed or faxed electronically. Gets there faster and it costs less than $0.03 to deliver.
  7. Gee, maybe they shouldn't have wasted all that money on advertising when they are the only mail carriers!
  8. If the USPS was doing a good job, there would be NO need for Fed Ex, UPS, etc.
  9. yes, it will be a major failure
  10. As the article points out, the Post Office does not currently receive taxpayer subsidies. What does one thing have to do with the other? The universal health care proposal contemplates subsidies.
  11. yes as with any agency that the government runs. those tasked with administering it become disdainful of the 'client's and are rude, overpaid and jaded. they just want to get through the mounds of paper work that is required. have you ever been 'served' by a postal employee. the one that have 'helped' me seem to think i was a bother.
  12. No it just goes to show that the Government can't be relied on for things that the Private sector is better at... Such as delivering mail... Even BEFORE the recession they were raising rates and where inefficient in delivering mail... so this instance can not hold onto the excuse of "it's the recessions fault"....
  13. No. you conservative republican guys that hide on YA pretending to be "women" are a priview of chickenhawks in action.
  14. No.The Post Office is not going under and cannot. Read the Constitution. Obama is not proposing nationalizing health care, rather he is proposing government subsidized HEALTH INSURANCE. Your question is based on nothing but misinformation and fantasy.
  15. What does one have to do with the other? As a postal employee I am offended. Where else can you get a first class ticket to anywhere in the US for just 42 cents? Fedex and UPS exist only because the public doesn't know what a great deal we are.
  16. you nailed it
