How long do occupation registers stay open in the U.S. Postal service?
That is how long do they keep the name lists open for each job in the postal service?

- There is no set time. I was on the list 2 years after taking the Civil Service Exam for Mark Up Clerk. It really depends on what type of job. I know for Temporary Exployees who work at a Remote Encoding Center, they are converting the employees from the highest score to lowest off of the 2003 register. You must have a score higher than 70 I believe for any branch of the Postal Service, but I also believe you can retake the test as many times as you like. There are some very good books at the library on how to score high. I've looked them over & they are right on. They even include sample questions that I've seen on the tests. Good Luck!
