Are you going to send a package of high value to the Philippines by FedEx?

If you are planning to, DON'T! You may be in for a headache. I recently sent a package that contains prescription medicine to my dad. When it got to Philippine Customs, they held it hostage for a long time. The people there are very shady. The customs people, along with FedEx employees are in cahoots. They seem to be running an extortion business. Beware!

  1. Should have sent it through LBC, Atlas, or ACE. They are a Philippine based shippers. We have sent same thing before, and it went right on through. Make sure you have all your documents about the medicine in the box. I would suggest making a few copies for each meds.
  2. Hi, Yes it really happens sometimes, though its not really the shipping co. or courier that makes this disappointment. It happened to Fedex and DHL and sometimes TNT, who's the culprit? . Well, the customs people/examiners, though I'm not generalizing them, but a lot of customs officers used to make money out of the shipments. Just simply look any single possibility to justify the act of these corrupter. Making big deals to small things, it so happened that Fedex encounter these people while they turn to release the package and if the processor assigned to release is new in the procedure, gotcha!
  3. sorry to hear that. but fedex is good company. thats an isolated case.
