How do you get an ink stain out of a shirt.?

It is mostly cotton. It is a US Postal uniform shirt if this helps. It is a major ink stain.

1. Its not going to be easy. Alcohol or hairspray will get ink out, but a major or large stain is going to spread before it comes out. I'd toss it.
2. hairspray or vinegar. it works for me! good luck :)
3. Rubbing alcohol. Just dab a little on it and it will come out even before you wash it. I worked at a department store and got black ink on a white shirt and my customer told me about it. Works like a charm. Good luck!

5. I've heard lemon juice and a soft toothbrush, then soak. Haven't tried it, so don't know for sure.
6. get some glycerin. you can buy it in liquid or you can get a thing of glycerin suppositories. i like the suppositories because you can rub it right in to the stain. let that sit for a half an hour then spray with a combination solvent (like shout or spray and wash) then launder as usual. hope this helps!
