Postal Letter

Do you have to use a flat rate label on a flat rate box from usps?

I am getting ready to ship something I sold on ebay, however, ordered a ton of these flat rate boxes and I realized that a regular box the same size as the flat rate box (since it only weighs 1-2lbs) is a lot cheaper to send than the flat rate box at its "flat rate". I was wondering if I could put a regular priority mail label on a flat rate shipping box (usps) thanks! :)

  1. Unfortunately - yes. They don't even let you write-out the flat rate portion. My post office has a self service section. I don't know what they do if you use the flat rate box but pay standard priority mail in the self service section.
  2. You can go to USPS.com and ask for free Priority boxes to be sent to your house.
