Canadian postal codes?

Canadian postal codes, how do they work? I heard its something like 9 alpha 9 or something. Could someone please give me an exampler?

  1. It's the other way around, alpha 9 alpha then 9 alpha 9. Ex (and hopefully I'm not giving a real one here) Z5P 6W8.

  3. V3E 5G2 it's: letter-number-letter-number-letter-number
  4. The first letter represents a general area. Like, 'H'=Montreal, 'J'=the rest of quebec. Then the next number and letter give a more specific location, like, J0H=northern quebec. Then finally you have he last three number-letter-number, that specify a propery, i.e. M5W 1E6=CBC Canada head office.
