Can I ship a camera in its original box through USPS without a blank box surrounding it?

I want to ship a Pentax camera through USPS, but I've run out of blank boxes. Can I ship it in its original box with a regular USPS shipping label on it and not have to cover it up?

You can definately ship it that way, and I have unfortunately received items that I have purchased on E-bay shipped that way, however, it's not a smart idea to do with something expensive like a camera. Shipping it in the original box lets people know what the item is, and anyone could easily steal it, including USPS (and yes, that does happen a lot) along the way. If you use a blank outer box for shipping, then people are less tempted to take the item.
