Change of address question for mailing (USPS)?

I moving soon, should i change address online or goes to postal office, online charge me $1 per person basically, but is it free in postal office? Do they really forward all your old address mail to the new address?

1. Best to go in person. Fill out the form. The mail will be forwarded to you for 6 months. Hard to believe, but they actually do a very good job at forwarding.
