Can you go to your post office and ask for your mail without notice?

UK ONLY - ROYAL MAIL I've been waiting for a package (recorded signed for) for a good few days. It was sent first class. Can i go to my post office (where you collect missed deliveries from) and ask to see if my package is there? Or is there more to the mail sorting than i think and it will be akward for them to find?

2. You can go anywhere and ask for anything without notice. That doesn't mean you will get anything though.
3. Go and ask. Remember, there is lots of mail moving this time of year so yours may be a bit later than at other times.
4. the best thing to do iis to contact the place where you got the package from; cause at the post office they are jerks
5. No need, it was delivered to me by mistake. I will pop round later and deliver it, sorry I have been working nights so didn't get a chance till now........ Regards Next door
