Do you believe that the United States Postal Service is good for our Macro economy? why?

The US Postal Service is a giant clusterf*ck. It is beaurocracy at its finest. If the US Postal service had competition from an independent company...the postal service would be out of business within a month. It hasn't got a clue how to do anything efficiently or cost effectively. One of the main reasons for this is, the post office has never had to "learn anything" from having competition...because it doesn't have any. AND IT SHOWS ! Using the services of the postal service however...are very good for our economy. Direct Mail is a very effective way to market a business, in fact it is superior to most other mediums.
