Thinking of starting a business where home-delivery is outsourced to me. Any suggestions on where to start?
Am thinking of trying my hand at providing the staff for door to door deliveries for food industry and other providers of door to door services. Ideally the plan is to have businesses like Pizza Hut (just an example) out-source their door to door delivery to me. I would provide the staff - driver/car and they would provide the location and of course the goods to be delivered. Is there any existing business that does this? Any advice on how to begin? Its just an idea that I want help looking into. Any useful suggestion would be appreciated thanx

- Yes, make good friends with the general managers or CEOs of these enterprises, let them know your ideas for custom deliveries. Build up a list of online subscribers that you can push your newsletter with coupons e.t.c., companies that you work with that they can order from and build up your list more and more. Later, self publish a little restaurant/ business guide that you can sell advertising to cover the costs and make you good profit. Distribute these guides to hotels, businesses, target niches e.t.c. and at the same time, capture their contact info. and put them on your newsletter! Constant contact will keep you at the top of their minds and order more from you. Start small, grow nicely.
- There are no businesses like what you are suggesting here where I live, but that shouldn't deter you away from trying. You will need to be Insured, possibly bonded, because you are working with other people's money as in the case of becoming a Pizza Delivery service. Any business that deals indirectly with someone else's money like security guards, have to be Bonded. Something worth looking into. Do you have start up funds? What about advertising, where are you with that? Do you have a list of people/businesses you have contacted to get their feed back on your intended services? For your advertising costs it is always a must to save. Do you have a website, Phone book ad, fliers? Are there businesses that will let you put up or display brochures? What is the name of the business? Car signage, any ideas? When you get 10 minutes check out this LocalAdLink presentation. I think it may help you over all with your local advertising goals with little out of pocket costs. www.productoverview.info. If you like what you see and want more info on how to sing up, let me know. With a new business venture I always try to find an expert to ask. Do you know a business owner? What type of cars or vans will you be using? Do they look nice? Clean? I think you could do a lot with this idea, your backbone planning though has got to be thoroughly investigated first.
