Postal Letter

Why do postal jobs want you to call 800# and then pay for a packet to apply?

Is it legit? Sounds kind of easy to do. Anyone have experience with this? If so, what are the steps?

  1. These are usually scams. You pay premium rates for the telephone call, pay for a starter pack. Then earn absolutely nothing. Unless you are introduced to a scheme by someone you know who has made a success of it, avoid it.
  2. They don't. Applying for a job at the post office (assuming you're talking about the USPS) is completely free -- just like applying for any other type of job anywhere should always be. If you have to pay to apply for a job, that's a good sign you're being scammed. Here's legitimate information about how to work for the USPS: http://www.usps.com/employment/welcome.htm?from=home_footer&page=careers Keep in mind, though, that the USPS is closing down offices and cutting back on hours for many of their employees. This isn't a really good time to be planning on starting a career there.
