US Postal Service-Track and Confirm...too long!?

I have a package that is suppose to be here in 2-5 days. My package was put in on the 11th, Saturday- here's what the tracking infor says on the site--- Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 11, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. Why does it keep saying this? Are they just being lazy and not picking up my package, or being lazy and not updating the info online? This has happened several times to me that a package is late from the ups-I've had packages that was overnighted and not recieved till 3 days later, which would be the same amount time if it were mailed normally! Once I even tracked a package where it said my package was in a town only 2 hours away from me at 10am-yet I did not recieve it till 2 days later. I thought they are suppose to keep sending it till the end of the day of work (around 5pm). Why is the ups people SOOO damn lazy here and not doing their job!

  1. Some companies only have USPS pick up packages one day a week, other companies 2-3 days a week, some places every day. It's not uncommon for the "electronic shipping info received" to show up on a package for up to 14 days before the package is actually received by the shipping company. There are a couple factors 1) it says that until the payment clears; 2) it says that when they notify USPS that they will have a package for them to pick up at some point; and 3) it says that until they actually pick up the package and scan it at the first destination the package is going to. It can take a long time for them to actually give the package to USPS, you need to take up your issue with the company you ordered the item from, and not USPS. Overnight packages sent on Friday are not delivered Saturday or Sunday, they are always delivered on Monday's. Also, if you order an item for overnight delivery after 2pm any day of the week, the order is not actually put in the system until the next day, and then overnighted, and it will arrive the next day.
