How Would I Ship a Guitar Through the USPS?

Does USPS have any flat rate boxes that would fit a guitar or do they provide or sell any that will, or should I find a box that will fit it? Possibly I could just send it in the box it came in? But the package that it came in is shine coated and has writing on it, would that cause a problem for shipping?

  1. go to the website, to to the link where you can ship, and enter the weight, size (dimensions) the the package that's all
  2. I recommended shipping through ups. for something like this..
  3. There are no Flat Rate boxes that would be large enough to ship a guitar. You may certainly use the box with a shiny coat. Just use a palin, blank sheet of paper to affix your address information. If you are going to use an online postage service, I would still recommend using a blank paper to have an area free of any extraneous markings to attach the label to the package. The problem that you will come to is this. Priority Mail may be on the pricey side because of the overall dimensions. It may even be too large to be sent as Priority Mail. In that case, you may be able to use the Oversize Parcel Post Rates, but those are pretty pricey as well.
