How can a media outlet (faux news, daily mail, whatever) have more power than a sanctioned state authority?
Can you think of a few examples?

- The brilliance of our government is that it places the power of indoctrinating the people in many different hands, so that nobody retains complete control. The gov makes the laws and teaches what we can and cannot do, the media teaches people what to think, religions teach us what to find right and wrong, etc. The real danger is when people start getting all their indoctrination from a single, overly compelling source. This seems to be happening to a certain extent with television. However, that's not say that people aren't still religious or absorbing other media like books.
- The media pretty much promotes the same news and since you hear something everywhere, then it must be true, right? Wrong. Unfortunately, because "machines" crank out press releases, then the same message is being fed to media. They are really just a pawn in the promotion of messages. News reporters really don't report news, they create stories.
