- They just laid off 25,000 people. They get first chance at any openings.
- The drivers could be changing due to people "bidding" on empty positions from other area offices. The postal service is not hiring any career employees right now. They do put notices on the website of when they are hiring for seasonal and transitional workers. You could also check in an "associate" office to see if they are hiring. These offices hire their own employees to fill vacant positions.
- If I remember correctly, UPS and the Post office keep all applications, and upon a job opening, they call applicants in the order in which they were received. I have heard that having military training or background is a huge plus in regards to the US Post office.
