Does USPS notify sender of address change?
I am moving and have changed my address with USPS so that my mail will be forwarded. However, if someone still sends mail to me at my previous address will they be notified I have moved and had an address change?

- I dont think so
- As if the USPS has time for that. They will forward all mail to you, and that is all.
- No. You have to notify everyone that you are moving. Plus, I think the USPS only forwards mail for 6 months to a year.
- Only if the sender requests it.
- Only if the sender requests notification, which you will notice on many of your credit card statements, mortgage or banking info. The envelop will have a message printed on it to please notify sender in the event of the address change. The sender will also be notified once the forwarding order expires and the mail is returned to sender.
- In some cases, yes. Generally, any commercial mail that would be sent to the old address would trigger a notification. First Class Mail, like a utility bill, would be sent on to you but the sender would have requested a notification. After 12 months, no mail would be forwarded to you but would be returned to the sender with your new address information. In very rare cases is any sort of Bulk Business mail forwarded and Periodicals (magazines) are only forwarded for 60 days. After that, the publisher is notified of the new address, and you would have lost an issue off your subscription.
