Postal Letter

The United States Postal Service lost $2 billion last year?

The government allows the USPS a monopoly on USA mail and yet the United States Postal Service still lost $2 billion last year. http://blogs.moneycentral.msn.com/topstocks/archive/2009/06/15/u-s-postal-system-rip.aspx Jesus Christ, why would anyone on earth want the government to run their healthcare and control peoples personal health?

Public Comments

  1. ......and the USPS has some Million$ Dollar houses to show for it.
  2. They do not own a monopoly, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. all mail things. Also, e-mail has become a large factor. Not as many letters are being sent. Please don't compare this to health care as they not related in any way.
  3. Nowadays a government concern that only loses $2 billion is quite a bargain.
  4. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we really could get an answer from Jesus Christ... The postal service has been selling a "forever" stamp for a while. Maybe they do have a spiritual philosophy thing going on.
  5. No one is suggesting that the 'government run health care or control people's health'. You've bought into the right wing fear mongering.
  6. And the bills are sent in that mail. sheesh.
  7. Did you actually READ that article??? The VERY first part says: "The U.S. Postal Service, which has been dying for years due to the advent of the fax, e-mail, and overnight delivery..." NOT because the government is running it....
  8. "Control peoples personal health?" USPS is losing revenue because of on-line payments, email, etc. People barely use the post office anymore! I use a stamp about once every 6 months!!
  9. The post office is not run by the govt. They are a separate entity. BTW-the govt has been tryin to break ties with the post office for years
  10. YEP the government cant run that!!!! How can we expect them to run communist health care. Its ultimately a government operation, pure and simple no matter what anybody said.
  11. Not to mention, keeping track of your medical history. Gives "dead letter" a whole new meaning. Ever read those stories about postcards delivered 50 years later? They're going to be finding dusty skeletons on gurneys forgotten in some hallway. LOL. Can you imagine?
  12. Unions Unions Unions Stop the onslaught of communist - lite unions
  13. Careful now. You're treading dangerously close to questioning The Founding Fathers!
  14. Isn't it ironic that the USPS farms out it's overnight and priority mail to FEDEX? They can't even do the job we pay them for. Why don't we just go to FEDEX?
  15. You are so right, have NO idea why these folks wish to have more goverment in our lives. The only reason why our goverment continues on, is simply....when they run out of money by misspending or stealing, they just come to us to get more, when that money runs out, they come for more, when that money runs out, they come back for more, when that money runs out, they come back for more, when that runs out, they come back for more....so I understand where you are coming from....
  16. People who have no health insurance would want to. Nobody will be forced to take part in a government program just as nobody is forced to go to a public school. There is no basis (other than the Reagan and Bush administrations doing everything they can to make it so) to believe that publicly owned companies are inherently poorly run. The best airline in the world is majority owned by the Singapore government.
