How do I get a job with the US Postal Services?

I think the post office in Santa Barbara County Ca would be a good job, I think most possitions make good money but I dont know how to go about getting a job there. Please Help

Postal service jobs are civil service. Apply for the job, then arrange to take the civil service exam. If you pass, your name remains on the eligible list for two years. bear in mind, hardly anyone quits a postal service job before retirement and they give preference to military veterans, so you may be waiting for a long, long time/
