career options question?

at my current job for the us postal service i make 18.24 an hr, i want to do medical billing and coding. it will cost me 1500 to take a course in medical billing and coding and probally 500 for the state test. i will be making about 14-15 an hr in that field. i rather do medical coding and billing but it pays less. do you think its worth less pay to do what you want to do??
