- Do you have a bank account? If you don't, good luck dude. A normal non-New York check takes a minimum of 25 days to clear after you deposit it into your bank account so you can withdraw the funds. A New York check may take as long as 6 weeks even if it is a PMO drawn up at a NY post office.
- Inquire at the Philippine Postal Office nearest you if they do encash U.S. postal money order if not, you're doomed. Anyway, why didn't the sender sent it through Western Union wherein you automatically get the Philippine peso exchange automatically instead of putting you through this? Just wondering.
- Try the FNCB. If not, the U.S. Embassy. Or, as was offered by another answerer, deposit in your bank account and wait for it to be cleared. If you know any bank manager, you can endorse it to him and he can cash it for you.
- Go to any foreign exchange dealers....they will cash it for you.
