Why does the post office have right side drive in their cars?
Well, all post office trucks I ever see has the drivers side on the right, rather than the left. And if the answer is so they can safely get out of their vehicle (Left side is always the traffic side in 2 ways), why don't we do it as a society...

- That's the side the mailboxes are on. It'd just be easier to reach out and change the mailboxes than to get up, get out of the truck, walk around the truck, etc.
- It's on the right so they don't have to get out of the truck to put mail in your mailbox.
- to find addresses faster? since the mail boxes are on the right so they wont get off americans are so lazy
- when they drive mail boxes are on the right easy acces some dont get out of viecle
- i would think it would be because most mailboxes are on the right...... maybe??
- so they can go the same way as traffic and still be able to reach the mailboxes
- cuz tahts the side all the houses and stuff r on
- Dani beat me... ya, that is why. Problem is sometimes their routes have nothing on the right side, and my post office person has theirs on the left (go figure)
- Cuz we drive on the right side of the road and it's easier to get to mail boxes. Why don't we do that as a society? Cuz i don't want to shift with my left hand =p
- It's so they can put mail in mail boxes without getting out of the car. They just pull up to the mail box and get the mail or drop it off. This way they don't have to drive on the wrong side of the road in order for the mail boxes to be on the drivers side of the car.
- Because if they are going to drive on the right side of the road like they are suppose to, all the mailboxes are on their right side, so its easier to drop off mail hope i helped :)
- no, it's not about safety......it's so they can do drive-by deliveries....it makes their job easier and quicker.
