Can I get a tracking number from a Automated Postal Center from USPS?

I need a tracking number to ship an item, but I don't really want to stand in a line at the office of go during normal hours. Can I get a tracking number from the Automated center?

1. Since I just called USPS for that information I thought I would share it with you. The kiosk does not automatically include a tracking number through their automated centers. In order to receive a tracking number you would have to: (1) Purchase the postage Express Mail OR (2) Choose the option where you require for the item to be signed for upon delivery of package Hope this helps! I wish I knew this prior to sending out my package.
2. Tracking numbers are only available for USPS Express Mail. You may purchase Delivery Confirmation for your item for Priority Mail or First Class Mail Parcels. Not all USPS extra services offer online viewable information. If you are going to use Priority mail, there is no need to even go to the Post Office at all. USPS offers Click-n-Ship. A free service to print your own shipping labels. A couple of benefits are that the postage is discounted and you receive Delivery Confirmation for free as well. Simply print the label on plain paper, securely tape it to your package and leave for your mailman to pick up, or drop in a collection box, if it will fit through the door.
