Question about jobs at USPS?
In order to get a job with USPS you have to buy materials do an exam and also have to pass, if you pass is there any guarantee you will get a job? how does this process work? Right now I have no job and haven't for a long time I have been a stay at home mom for over a yr and before that done a nanny job, so I am finding it really hard to get a job

- You do *NOT* have to buy any materials to apply for a job at the post office! Some scam sites will try to sell you test prep materials, but they are NOT required. The legitimate way to apply for a job at the post office is to start at the official post office site: http://www.usps.com and click "careers" down at the bottom of the page. (Remember that these days, the post office is laying off staff and closing down distribution centers all over the country. It's really not a good time to be looking to start a new career there.)
- USPS has had a hiring freeze for almost a year
- although they aren't hiring, you could take the test (a couple hours, as i recall) and if an opening occurs you'd be on the waiting list for two years...they hire those who score highest first, so if you're good at math and being able to differentiate addresses (40 years since i took the test) you might score high enough to top the list for your area...
