How many people work in the average post office?

(I'm specifically asking about the "main hub" post office in a fairly large city.) And also, are customer service agents separate from the people who sort mail? Or do customer service agents sometimes sort mail as well?

1. There is in Kent a post office where 750 people work daytime and 500 people at night.
2. That is a difficult question to answer as each is unique. New York, v. Los Angeles for example. Both cities are set up differently. Most go from 1 employee to as many as 500.
