Postal Letter

Possible to order stuff straight to post office and to be picked up at the post office instead of house?

If I wanted to order something straight to a post office and pick it up from there: 1) How would I go about doing it? 2) What ID would I have to provide? 3) If it's not possible, are there alternatives? Thanks No it's not anything dodgy... So there's no free/cheaper way?

  1. no..you need to get a Post Office box...which you pay for...ask them.
  2. p.o box
  3. ask a friend to have it delivered there...unless its porn then use the postoffice.
  4. you could have a po box
  5. I'm not sure if it's possible to 'pre-arrange', but I know if they try to deliver when you aren't in, the card they leave has the option of picking up from you nearest post office, or, for 50p, you can collect from any post office. I have used this service, as I feel it is well worth 50p, on most occasions.
  6. Why don't you have it delivered to your house as normal, but not answer the door. Then they will have to take the parcel back to your local main delivery office. You take the card they put through the door with ID (a bank card will do) to collect it. If this office is inconvenient you can call the number on the card and pay 50p to have it delivered to your closest post office (this is by UK Royal Mail by the way)
  7. If it's being sent by a courier, and you are not home, they usually give you the option to order it to be delivered to your nearest post office instead. I'm not sure how you would go about getting it delivered there in the first place though, or if it's not being sent by courier.
