What is the cheapest means of shipping a box of shoes via the USPS?

Sorry, I'm a bit new to shipping items that I've sold on EBAY. Can anyone with experience sending items via the USPS tell me the advisable means of sending a small shoe box? I want to send the package in a plastic wrap and not in a box. What is the cheapest rate and what is the USPS terminology? Thanks so much for the tips.

2. FIrst off, do not send the shoes without a box of some sort. Your buyer is expecting a certain level of care to be provided in your packaging. Second, when you listed the shoes, what USPS shipping method did you say you were going to use. It is very important that you follow through with what you listed. If you stated USPS Priority Mail, then that is what you need to use. In fact, USPS will provide to you, at no charge, a Priority Mail box that was designed for shipping shoes. Depending on how far the shipping is, the cost for 2 pounds would be between $4.95 & $8.70. You can get a discount on the postage if you print the shipping label online through Paypal or at usps.com. Also, you will absolutely want to use Delivery Confirmation. Again, with you printing the label online, the DC will be free for Priority AMil.
3. The post office is going to charge you the same rate for shipping the shoes whether they are in a box or a bag, so I recommend that you box them to protect them. Your rate is going to be determined by your exact weight and shipping distance, but it shouldn't be more than $4-7 for the continental US.
