Would Fed Ex and UPS raise their rates if the USPS halted all service?
Public Comments
- No, but they would try to move in on flat mail and probably charge more than the Post Office.
- Some, as there would be increased demand for their services. But they still have to compete with each other, so costs wouldn't skyrocket.
- As long as they are competing against each other, they will keep their rates relatively the same regardless of what happens to USPS.
- kind of a moot point since the USPS isnt going to halt all service
- Wouldn't that mean more business for them?
- If the market allowed it.
- No, but the cost of mailing a letter would sky rocket. Fed Ex and UPS are constantly raising rates and are getting very expensive, even for ground. Did you know the USPS pays Fed EX millions and millions of $ to transport their overnight and second day mail?
