How much does tracking number cost at usps?

Im shipping and item from 01902 to 90640. If i do get tracking number at usps do i need id or sign anything because im only 15 sending a item to a friend and wanted to put tracking.

1. You don' t need an id or to sign anything. Anyone can mail something, no minimum age. Delivery confirmation is an additional 70-80 cents, much less if you print postage online. Basically that give you the ability to see when it was delivered.
