why do so many Canadians not know their postal codes?
I work for a customer service phone line and when we document customer information a lot of Canadians don't seem to know their postal codes. I know people don't write letters like they used to but you still get mail and it's gonna be on the envelope. It just doesn't make sense to me.

- leave us alone aye?
- Because Canada doesn't care about that. They care about their maple syrup and hockey. haha not to be mean or anything
- It is not because we dont know them , we dont give them out. They ask quite frequently asking @ the L.C.B.O AND i REFUSE. I dont give out any information that I consider personal. Ask if they Know their Bank P.I.N. number.
- Tell your IT people to invest in a postal code database - it will automatically populate from the address in most cases. The only exception is with some post office box addresses and certain rural routes. Postal codes are still a relatively new thing for Canadians, they have only been around since the 70s.
- Many American's don't know their zip codes either.
- I know my postal code so you can go suck it
- well i know when i get mail, i don't read the envelope, the most i read of that is my name and who it's from, not my postal code most canadians i know, know theyre postal code anyway
- I think people are just too lazy to remember it. How often do you mail yourself a letter? I search postal coeds on-line all the time at the Canada Post web-site. Supereasy.
