How can i chat within hotmail e-mail client?

I have got my self a hotmail mail id registered as '______@hotmail.com'. So is it possible for me to chat within the hotmail e-mail client as we do in Yahoo mail and G-mail? Or is there any other way to chat without downloading the msn live?
