Usps Never delivered my package I need help 10pts best answer?

So me and my sister were on ebay she was looking for a phone, we found an item at a price we couldn't pass up, anyways she bought it, so I was tracking it on usps (united states postal services, not ups) So I tracked it today and it said it was delivered Monday August 24th, so I told my mom, she says that there was no package outside, we called Usps and told them our problem (our sister wasn't at home we didn't want to tell her,) So about 2 hours later we went to our local post office and see if the mail man droped it off there, We talked to the lady and she looked, she found nothing, luckily out local mailman who delivers in our area walked in, he says he told the lady "I might not of delivered it to 6514, but he might of accidentally delivered it to 6914" so he said he will knock on there door tomorrow to see if they have the package and if it helps at all we ordered a cell phone "samsung instinct" I;m pretty sure people won't give it back if they were to have it, what should I do thanks in advance.

1. If you live in a place where the postal workers actually take the time to talk to you, then you probably live in a place where people will give you back your package. Sounds like your mail carrier remembers the package. You can go to 6914 and look. Maybe it is outside that house. Knock on their door and ask. Have your mom go with you. Worst case scenario, you file a claim on eBay for your money back.
