Postal Letter

Can I give the mailman a letter to send to California(from Louisiana) or do I have to go to the post office?

Do I have to go there to mail it, like I do with foreign letters or will the mailman just have it delivered if I stick it in the mailbox ?

1. Just stick it on your mailbox or if you live in an apartment with the key just stick a note on the mailbox letting them know you have outgoing mail. That's what we do.
2. As long as the letter have a stamp on the envelope you can hand to the mail-person or use the drop box on the mailbox that's what its there for outgoing mail or stick it in the mailbox turn it facing so the person who picks up th mail see it.put up the red flag on the side of the box that will alarm the mail person to pick up the letter.
