How long does standard mail take from san jose to san diego?

I sent a rent check from san jose to san diego and it's been about a week and my landlord still hasn't gotten it yet! This has happened many times and I think the mail lost the previous mail I've sent before. Can anyone help me know what's going on?

1. It shouldn't take more than 3 to 4 days... you should contact the postmaster in San Diego. It sounds to me like there is a problem with the delivery and the mail carrier. The post office won't be able to do much, so I would recommend to spend the extra cash and use UPS or FedEx.
