can I use two normal US postal stamps to mail a letter to the UK?

I want to mail a letter to the UK which cots 98 cents, can I put two regular first class stamps on and mail it that way or do I need to go to the post office?

1. Well since two first class stamps total 88¢, you would be 10¢ short. So you could either see if the letter would go through with short postage or go and get a 10¢ stamp. Or you could put three first class stamps on the letter.
