How can i track USPS Post Starting With Code US ?

I have my friend send me a package with tracking code but when i type the code and hit track on USPS site i get you can't track this item via this website. The tracking code goes like USxx-xTxx-xxxx-xxxx Thanks in advance for answers.

1. Where does your friend live? If he lives outside the US then the tracking number won't work for you. Ask your friend to track it for you.
2. The tracking numbers usually don't go online instantly. It may take a day or two. Use upss.com to track ANY package from ANY carrier. It works great for me. It can distinguish between the codes.
3. USPS Express Mail Tracking, the only service that offers tracking, as well as Confirmation and Customs numbers do not start with US. Originating numbers will end in US. This designates the country of origin according to Universal Postal Union regulation. There is also no USPS numbering that has any letters in the middle. Either your friend is not using USPS or their national Postal Service, or they have made a couple of typos in sending you the number.
