Does anyone know what it means to b a transitional employee for USPS?
I was wondering if I should leave my current position to pursue a non-career appt. as an TE. Will it eventually lead to FT or is it a dead in street to no where. I was wondering if i should leave my current position 2 pursue a mail carrier career as an TE.

- If you are talking about at a remote encoding center (REC) it's probably a dead street to no where.
- TE's are temporary positions and will not lead to a career withUSPS unless you get the opportunity to take the exam. Of course if you score well enough on exam they WILL offer you a position. That is what I was told. As for leaving any current job for the TE, I would think hard.
