Postal Letter

Why is the Govt giving a $4 billion bailout to the Postal Service?

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27513.html I thought they generated a positive cash flow.

Public Comments

  1. Think again the benefits of the unionized postal workers is what is breaking the bank, certainly their services have gone down hill
  2. Here goes waste of taxpayers money. They are still not trying to cut the deficit. What a waste!
  3. Yet another example of a government agency that is being poorly managed.
  4. Becau.se the government is so inefficient they lose money at everything. If the government took over the prostitution racket they would lose money at that. Everything the government touches turns to a turd
  5. Because the USPS is vital to the maximum efficient operation of the public domain and its needs. The USPS offers services that no one else would even consider. Not Fed-Ex, not UPS, not DHL, etc. There was a proposal to close 10 Post Offices here in my town, and the public outcry was loud! Now, only 3 will be closed. Personally, I liked the little 2-clerk Post Office Express we had in our nearby supermarket. When the supermarket went out of business, they evicted the P.O. Now I have to drive more than 5 miles to the nearest P.O. if I need a service that those bigger guy just don't offer.
  6. FAILED BUSH ECONOMY is still here ha hah ahha hahahahah
  7. Wait.. Wasn't the post office supposed to be a shining example of how private sectors can compete with the gov't? I wonder what would happen if UPS went tits up. I bet they wouldn't get a bailout.
