Has anyone started a successfull Grocery Delivery Business?

I see a lot of post on Grocery Delivery pricing and Naming but what I guess I want to know is if someone can let me know how there Grocery Delivery Business is working and if they have any tips... I would appreciate any ones serious comments. Thank You

  1. Some very big companies have tried it and failed, like Webvan. Stop and Shop offers a service called Peapod but it's not doing well. Few people want to pay extra for the convenience.
  2. We had a service that would pick up anything you wanted and deliver it to you. You then paid the sales receipt(s), gas and delivery fee. They were awesome! But now that the economy has tanked, they went under because folks weren't willing to shell out the dough for the service. Good idea, bad time to implement.
