Postal Letter

What customs forms do I need to ship a box from USA to UK?

I am shipping a flat rate large box through the USPS - it's going from Washington to Oxford, England. However, I am not sure what customs forms to attach. Can someone tell me if all I need to the customs form they give you at the postal service? Or, do I need to send a C3 form to the UK Customs office? Also, how common is it that a package will be held up in customs? Help!

  1. The P.O. will give you all the forms you need to fill out. I'm not so sure about the chances of it getting held up in customs, but I bet the P.O. will:)
  2. I often sell items on Ebay and ship to the UK. There are two types of custom forms. The one you need depends on the size of your package. The USPS has the forms and will tell you which one you need. You do not need any additional forms from the UK. I haven't had any problems with packages being held up at customs. Just be honest about what the box contains and its value. Pack carefully so your items are not damaged or broken. Good luck!
