I need help reading the usps zoning chart what does a zone 7 mean?
does it mean the package will take 7 days to arrive? Probably not is what I was thinking. The package is a priority mail package being shipped from a 924 zip code to 701 zip code. Duff man i know they are not zip codes but when tracking and confirming a package the only thing needed is the first 3 numbers of a zip code

- those are not zip codes
- The zone chart just reflects the distance from point a (you) to point b (them). zone 1 is always local.
- The zone numbers tell how far your destination zip code is from your starting zip code. "Zone 7" means that 701 zip codes are 1400 to 1800 miles away from 924 zip codes. Here's the complete guide. Zone definitions are on page 4: http://ribbs.usps.gov/files/Zone_Charts/ZCTECHNICAL_GUIDE.PDF
