can u get Rural Carrier job at usps despite of bad driving record?
I have interview at USPS in few days. Unfortunetly I got two tickets for speeding and reckless driving which hasn't been proven yet. What chances do I have of getting this job.

- I was told by a postmaster - several of them, in fact - that they only go back 5 years on your driving record. If these happened recently, as you suggest, then my guess is you won't be considered for the position. If you lie about it on the application, then they will find out when they check your license. In Missouri, speeding gets you 2 points on your license, so both charges would get you 4 points, and the reckless charge probably another 4 points on top of that...so like 8 points total. If a lawyer can not get them reduced or eliminated, then I wouldn't think they would hire you. Especially, if it is recent. I was charged with DUI in 2002, but my lawyer got the criminal side thrown out...no points. However, the state did an automatic administrative suspension (alcohol) of my license, so it still showed up on the background check, which they send a copy to you. Because this was 7 years ago, I assume it didn't matter, because I got a Rural Carrier job recently. Supposed to start this month. So, anything could happen, I suppose.
