USPS Job ..?

A relative of mine was given the job opportunity to work for USPS as a PE Carrier. He passed the driving test and officially got the job, and was told to quit his previous job. After working for about 2 days he was given another written test, which he failed. After this they told him he was no longer a USPS employee, and since he was told to quit his previous job, now he is without a job.... Is there anything he can do about this? Since it is because of USPS telling him to quit, that he has no income anymore... Thanks yeah I was thinking about the union too...but apparently you have to be an employee for a few months or something before you get union benefits

  1. He was hired then he was fired. It happens every day in America. He needs to go find a new job. It stinks but as long as he wasn't hired any contract that USPS broke then he is just out of luck. He may be eligible for unemployment benefits, though.
  2. Even TE Carriers can belong to the Union. If he was smart and signed up to join the Union on the first orientation day, contact the Shop Steward to file a grievance about the adverse job action.
