Postal Letter

USPS says that the package was delivered, but I never got it!?

I've always had USPS deliver mail to me and when the boxes are too-large, they leave it in the front-yard. I purchased a $40 item on Tuesday, and the seller promptly shipped it on Wednesday. When I checked from my office on Friday, it says "Delivered on Friday, Feb 1" in my city and zip-code. I was so excited that I drove home during lunch -- no package...I looked all around the house, under all the shrubs, trees, etc. and also outside my garage to no avail. I drove around the neighborhood and did not find it. Also asked my neighbors to see if they got it. Nope. I thought maybe the driver forgot and will deliver it on Saturday. Nope. Nothing came on Saturday. When I went to the post-office on Saturday afternoon and explained the problem to the USPS employee, he looks at me and goes "Okay? According to our records it has been delivered sir." To which I said, "I am not lying, I did NOT get the package. What do I do" and he hands me a post it and says "Put your phone number on it." and to which I said, "You don't even have my address and my details, how are you going to track it?" He goes, "yes, please put that too." And when I was leaving, he sticks the post-it to his monitor....and I am sure that it will not be looked into considering the attitude of the idiot. After I got home, I called the 1800 number for USPS and they started a ticket. they said they will contact the post master and have this looked into. But I am afraid that my $40 have gone wasted...

  1. maybe someone stole it lol
  2. it's because I took it..
  3. I thought you had to sign for that stuff. Ask about that. vicki
  4. A neighbor has it or you were ripped off
  5. yeah, someone might have stolen it. sorry dude.
  6. yeah if you didn't get insurance on it I think you are out of luck.... someone probably did steal it.
  7. last time this sort of thing happened to me i had to call ups and they sent someone out with a sworn paper for me to sign swearing under penalty of law that i did not recieve the item then they paid the sender to resend the item or refund me. it took like a month total to get the whole thing worked out but they did eventually make it right
  8. Chances are that someone stole your package. File a missing package report at the PO. If you purchased insurance, you should be able to recoup your money.
  9. if an item is delivered there has to be a signature which indicates that you have received the package, some proof if they are saying you have received the package then theirlying, report it immediately!
  10. It was either stolen or they lost it. That's why if you have anything of value shipped, use FedEx or UPS and make sure that it's insured. It could still get lost or stolen, but at least you'll be reimbursed. I'm pretty sure the USPS offers insurance, but they're pretty slow on delivery and their tracking system is pretty lame. With FedEx or UPS, once you have a tracking #, you can log onto their web site and see just where that package is and when it's scheduled to arrive at it's destination. NEVER trust the post office with anything valuable !
  11. One of a few things happened. Someone helped themselves to your package, the carrier forgot, or there was a computer glitch. Go back and request the clerk look in back for a package that was supposed to go on the truck and didn't. Other than that, file a report, maybe that carrier is stealing packages and complaints against them will arouse suspicion It won't get your package back but at least it'll be on file.
  12. This exact thing just happened to me. I went to the post office and a similar event happened, and they told me to contact the seller. USPS just sucks. Try contacting the seller and see if they are willing to send you another one ( I did that and they gave me another one for free, except i had to pay for shipping, which would probably be a lot less than the $40 you spent)
