How do I get a record of a certified mail through the post office?
I lost the return receipt, it was mailed about one year ago. I need it for an important lawsuit, and do not know how long the post office may have held to the record.

- If you don't have any kind of number or receipt after a year, I think your chances are pretty slim to zero. After all, it's been almost a year. They MIGHT be able to pull it up by your name or address, but I kind of doubt it. USPS delivers MILLIONS of letters. No one sits around and types in that info onto a database. It's up to you to keep track of your important documents - not them. Go and try to see if they can find it - it MIGHT still be on their computer system.
