Postal Letter

I was recently hired by the USPS as a casual employee and have a few questions so please advise me. Thanks?

Ok I was recently hired as a casual employee with the USPS and want to know would that mean I would be a mail carrier? I go in for orientation tommorrow orning so what should I expect? After my 6 moths provided I am deemed satifactory I am eligible to take the carrer postal test, so for mail carrier would that certify as one if I am successful on the career test after saisfactorally completing my first 6 months. Let me know

1. That is going to depend on how much you can absorb in the first 6 months and how high you score on the test. After 6 months you're eligible to take the test...but no guarantees. So, learn all you can and get yourself one of the Postal Carrier examinations...they sell them in bookstores.
2. so I guess if you cannot be a mail carrier (or postie) for 6 months - what will you be doing? Something tells me (and I am only guessing here) that you'll probably spend the first 6 months sorting the mail into the little boxes and delivering them to the posties.
