Postal Letter

Does a TE (Transitional Employee) for the USPS really work 6 days a week?

I was just interviewed by my local Postmaster for a TE city carrier, and he said I would basically be working 6 days a week, which included Sat. Can this really be the case, not getting another day off for working 6 days a week? Is this normally the case everywhere or just a localized work schedule? Also, does anyone know if this work week would continue if I became a carrier carrier? Thanks so much! I'm just outside Philly in Lansdale, PA. 1. Yes Dan it's true, you will most likely be working 6 days a week. There are staffing shortages nationwide at the USPS and the TE's are filling those shortages. If you accept the job be prepared for hard work and long hours.
