Postal Letter

When is it proper to give a mailman a Christmas present~Before or after Christmas?

I always give the mailman a card and some money before Christamas and my wife says I should give them the money after Christmas~to me it is a a moot point but what is more proper? I am sure the mailman could care less as long as they got the present~~

  1. Before Christmas. If you wait until after it seems like you forgot and just hurried up threw something together.
  2. It is proper to deliver your gift to your mailman before the holiday. This would also apply to the person who delivers your newspaper, babysitter, teacher. clergy-or any one else you feel you would like to offer a gift to. Hope that helped.
  3. If you give the gift before, your letter carrier can use the extra money to help with their own holiday expenses, such as food, gifts or travel. Who wishes someone a merry Christmas after the fact?
  4. Of course before. People will open the present on Christmas day.
  5. A gift is a gift but sometimes it is better to be late then NEVER especially if the gift is money~I give after the fact~people can always be grateful when they are broke from the holidays it separates you from the *Pack*
