How to deal with "corruption" in the USPS, WITHOUT union representation?

National Labor Relations Board has a written "agreement" with the employer to provide requested documents (which they refuse to honor), Department of Labor states that they do not have the staff or resources to investigate/prosecute for the civil (and criminal) violations of Federal Laws that they DOL is responsible for enforcing. Union Representative has been subjected to "undue influence" by local management to ensure his "assistance and silence" in their (managements') actions against members of the Craft (Union) members which have resulted in MILLIONS of dollars of "losses" to the employees and the employer. Office of Inspector General (USPS), "claims" to have INVESTIGATED my complaint.......yet failed to obtain ANY of the supporting documents from me, or ANY of the witness names that I have. They summarily ruled that ALL USPS actions were "appropriate", including multiple violations of National Contract, several Federal Laws (both civil and criminal). Where do I go for help? Contacted our National Union President.........only to have him "pass the buck" right back to our local President and our local Steward (the one being "influenced"). Influence has included "unlimited absences" and PAYOFFS under the pretense of "inappropriate suspensions" (thousands of dollars).

  1. You could contact your NBA through the Union to circumvent the Local representative. There may also be recourse through the MSPB, but that is usually used in management cases. Outside of that, perhaps only a Civil action will continue this for you. I have to say though, that if you have already met dead ends with all that you have done, you may want to speak with an Attorney that specializes in Labor law to really make sure that you do have something that would be worth continuing.
  2. Tough tough situation... since it has been internally investigate, time for you to hire an attorney.
